2024 Census deadline extended

Jul 3, 2024 | 11:20 AM

The City of Grande Prairie has extended the deadline for the 2024 Census.

According to the City, this was done to reach the target of a 90 per cent census completion rate.

To reach 90 per cent, 2,500 households will need to finish the census, so City workers will now be going “neighbourhood to neighbourhood” until that goal is met.

The City said in an earlier release, that the completion rate of the Census decides how much provincial grant money a City will receive, and not meeting the 90 per cent target means Grande Prairie would be missing out on funds.
