County of Grande Prairie fire advisory
Due to the ongoing heat wave, the County of Grande Prairie has put a fire advisory in place.
This advisory is in effect for the entire county, including Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley, and does align with the fire advisory issued yesterday for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
At this time, existing fire permits are still valid, however, “fire services will be reviewing new requests over the coming days.”
Burning without a permit is not allowed unless residents are having a safe campfire, and winds do not exceed 12 kilometres an hour.
