County Fire Department shares update on Highway 43 baler fire
The County of Grande Prairie Fire Department provided the EverythingGP newsroom with some updates regarding a baler fire on Highway 43 yesterday. (Tuesday, July 9)
Crews responded to a call yesterday at around 7:05 p.m. on Highway 43 and Range Road 54 where a baler had caught fire in the highway’s median while baling.
No injuries were reported, as crews were able to get the blaze extinguished, receiving some help from residents passing by.
However, the County Fire Department would like to use this opportunity to warn residents about the dangers of bailing during a heat wave, suggesting they wait a few days until it cools down as they have responded to multiple similar fires throughout the week.
