Province issues fire ban for the entire forest protection area

The Alberta government is implementing a province-wide fire ban for all Forest Protection Areas as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.

This is being done due to the ongoing heatwave majority of the province is experiencing.

The Alberta government says that since July 1, 173 new wildfires have started.

Due to increasing wildfire danger and many active wildfires across the province, Alberta’s government is implementing a fire ban for the entire Forest Protection Area at 4:00 p.m.
