GPREP reducing hours of operation for Jasper Evacuee Reception Centre

Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership has reduced the hours of operation for the reception centre for Jasper evacuees.

As of Wednesday, the centre located at the Holiday Inn and Suites will now be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with poster and instructions on the front desk for any evacuees arriving after hours.

There are currently 321 registered evacuees in Grande Prairie.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Jasper has released the criteria needed before residents can return to their homes following last week’s fires.

These include the wildfires being identified as no longer an imminent threat to the townsite, all hazards have been secured or mitigated and emergency and critical services, and critical retail, have been restored to a basic level of service.
