AHS issues water quality advisory for Young’s Point Provincial Park beach

Alberta Health Services has issued a water quality advisory for Young’s Point Provincial Park beach.

Effective immediately, visitors and residents are advised to not swim or wade at this beach area due to elevated levels of fecal bacteria.

AHS says at their current levels the bacteria can cause gastrointestinal illness if ingested, as well as skin, ear and eye infections.

AHS will continue to monitor the water, and the advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
