City of Grande Prairie celebrating Alberta Day with free facility use Aug. 31

The City of Grande Prairie will be opening three facilities for free Saturday to celebrate Alberta Day.

The Eastlink Centre, Activity & Reception Centre and Bonnetts Energy Centre will all be open for public use to commemorate Alberta’s 119 anniversary.

Additionally, the Grande Prairie Storm will be hosting a public skate at Bonnetts from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The city is also encouraging you to visit the Grande Prairie Museum and Reverend Forbes Homestead, which are always free to visit.

Mayor Jackie Clayton says Alberta Day s a fun way to celebrate the culture and growth of our province.

Hours for free facility access at each location are listed below:

  • Eastlink Centre from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Activity & Reception Centre from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Bonnetts Energy Centre public skate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Grande Prairie Storm joining at 11 a.m.
  • Grande Prairie Museum from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Reverend Forbes Homestead from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
