Heavy police presence in Red Earth Creek area

Update at 9:15 a.m. – RCMP say they are now cleared from the incident on Highway 88, near Highway 754.

Police were successful in arresting a suspect thanks to the use of a spike belt and pursuit of a vehicle.

Mounties say they will have additional information on the incident and charges, once they are sworn.

The Slave Lake RCMP are warning the public to remain vigilant as they are in the Red Earth Creek area looking to apprehend a suspect involved in a crime.

Highway 88, north of Highway 754 is impassable as of 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, due to police blockade.

Mounties say they are using a significant amount of resources to find the individual, as well as to protect the public.
