The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre held its fourth annual Orange Shirt Day 5km Walk/Run on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Monday, September 30.

A large crowd gathered at Muskoseepi Park in the afternoon, dressed in orange clothing to honor those who went through the residential school system.

The trail included signs, each a previously existing residential school, it’s province, and in some cases the confirmed number of students.

Earlier that same day a ceremonial event was held by the Grande Prairie Aboriginal Circle of Services at Maskwoteh Park.
