Grande Prairie RCMP arrests suspect from Sept. 27 assault

Grande Prairie RCMP has arrested a 20-year-old resident in connection to an assault with a weapon that occurred in September.

On September 27, 20-year-old Drake Giroux-Horseman was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of mischief, following an incident on September 13, when a 46-year-old man attempted to stop someone from rifling through his vehicle and struck him on the arm with an edged weapon.

Video surveillance footage and forensic evidence seized at the scene were key elements in the investigation.

Giroux-Horseman will appear in court October 16 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie.
