Northwestern Polytechnic launches Empowering Women Bursary at Grande Prairie event

Northwestern Polytechnic has launched a new bursary program aimed at supporting women in pursuing post-secondary education.

The Empowering Women, Transforming Futures Fund provides financial assistance to women facing socio-economic challenges and offers access to education.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says poverty is not just about the income, it’s about access to education, housing and community social services.

The fund was made possible thanks to a donation from Charles Backman and the Backman Family Fund through NWP.
