Local Junior A & B weekend hockey roundup

The Grande Prairie Storm are back in action tomorrow (Friday, November 15) at Bonnett’s as they start a doubleheader against Camrose.

The Storm are currently looking down on the entirety of the AJHL as they sit first in the North Division and the entire league with 32 points, thanks to 15 wins, and only a single regulation loss.

The first game against Camrose will start at 7 p.m. and will be Diabetes Awareness Night with two special jerseys planned to be auctioned off during the night.

They will then be back in action again on Saturday, November 16 with a 6 p.m. puck drop.

In local Junior B action, the STRIKE GROUP Northwest Junior Hockey League will have its first weekend of action under the name new and sponsorship.

Starting on Friday Sexsmith will take on Dawson Creek, North Peace Navs will visit the Flyers in Fairview, and Beaverlodge will face off with Fort St John.

All those games will start at 8 p.m.

Then on Saturday, Fort St. John will be in the County of Grande Prairie playing the Wheat Kings, Fairview hosts the Lumber Barons, and Beaverlodge visits Sexsmith; with all those games also starting at 8 p.m.

Finally, on Sunday, November 16, two games wrap up the weekend as the Wheat Kings visit Dawson Creek, and La Crete heads to Peace River to play the Navigators, both at 2 p.m.
