Trio arrested in Slave Lake for weapons and drugs

Three individuals are in custody awaiting court dates in Slave Lake following a traffic stop in the community on Friday, November 15.

Slave Lake RCMP say just after 11:00 p.m., they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle avoiding a check-stop.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on outstanding warrants. Police removed the driver from the vehicle and found a sawed-off rifle in the vehicle and two passengers were arrested as well.

A prohibited magazine with ammunition was also in the vehicle at the feet of one of the passengers, and the other was found to have 60 grams of methamphetamine on the person.

More meth and ammunition was found once officers conducted a further search warrant on the vehicle.

As a result of this incident, Slave Lake RCMP have arrested the travelling trio.

Peace River resident, 26-year-old Brady Alook has been charged with the following:

  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of firearm/ammunition in motor vehicle x2
  • Possession of prohibited weapon with ammo without licence
  • Weapons possession contrary to order x3
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized x2

Trout Lake resident, 32-year-old Glen Gladue has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized x2
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of firearm/ammunition in motor vehicle x2
  • Possession of prohibited weapon with ammo without licence
  • Fail to comply with release order condition x2
  • Weapons possession contrary to order

Trout Lake resident, 47-year-old Jerry Netowastenum, has been charged with the following:

  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of firearm/ammunition in motor vehicle x2
  • Possession of prohibited weapon with ammo without licence
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon x2

The three men were remanded into police custody after being taken before a Justice of the Peace and will be in Slave Lake court on Wednesday, November 20.
