GPPSD annual holiday art card contests highlighting local artists

The Grande Prairie Public School District has chosen its winner for the annual high school holiday art card contest.

This year’s theme was “All is Bright,” with four people receiving a cash prize, thanks to a tie for third place.

Malia Quevillon from Charles Spencer took home first place in the contest, while second place was awarded to Lauren Dunbar from the Comp.

Brynn Wilson of Charles Spencer, and Tanu Namsot also from the Comp tied for third.

Quevillon will now have her artwork featured in GPPSD’s holiday card, along with a $200 cash prize; while second and third place received $150 and $100 respectively.

In a release, GPPSD Board Chair Joan Nellis said they are “amazed by the talent and creativity showcased by our students,” and they are proud to “highlight the unique voices of the school division’s young artists.”
