Whitecourt RCMP find no evidence to “substantiate” gunshot report

Whitecourt RCMP say “there is no threat to the community,” after receiving a call about gunshots outside a residence earlier today (Thursday December 19); two weeks after a shooting incident resulted in death at the airport.

Once on the scene of the gunshot report, Mounties worked to create a perimeter to “ensure public safety.”

Mounties then began their investigation and found no one sustained any injuries.

An extensive search of the neighbourhood was also done, neighbours told mounties they did not see, or hear any gunshots, and no physical evidence was found to “substantiate the report.”

In the release, Whitecourt RCMP says “there is no indication of any ongoing threat to public safety.”
