String of tire slashings in Grande Prairie leads to an investigation

Jan 7, 2025 | 2:08 PM

Mounties in Grande Prairie are currently investigating a string of tire slashings that took place in the City last night and into this morning.

Grande Prairie RCMP said four reports of tire slashing were sent in on Tuesday, January 7, from the areas of 102 Street to 100 Street, and 104 Avenue to 107 Avenue.

At this time Mounties do believe the slashings took place in the late hours of Monday, January 6, into the early hours of today (Tuesday, January 7). However, they currently have no suspects and have yet to obtain video footage.

RCMP ask anyone with dashcam, business surveillance or residential security system footage in the area to review it and contact the Grande Prairie detachment if you find anything suspicious.

Mounties are also asking anyone residing in either of the affected areas, who has not yet reported tire or other damages, to “please do so.”

Anyone with relevant information on this investigation can contact the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment at 780-830-5700 or anonymously by using Crime Stoppers.
