Grande Prairie man to appear in court following drug seizure

A Grande Prairie resident will be appearing in court next week facing 13 charges following a drug seizure in late November.

On November 28, Grande Prairie RCMP executed search warrants in Mountainview and Clairmont, seizing various items including; 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 991 grams of methamphetamine, 3 kilograms of a then unidentified pill, and a stolen revolver.

The pills seized during the warrant execution were tentatively identified as a highly potent opioid called isonitazene.

Fifty-year-old Andre Rozen was arrested with charges including; possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of currency over $5,000 as proceeds of crime, and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.

Rozen is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie Monday January 13.
