County residents encouraged to check ice conditions before use

The County of Grande Prairie is reminding residents about tools available to check the conditions of ice surfaces.
As winter temperatures fluctuate from extreme cold periods to unseasonable warmth which can weaken ice surfaces, the County wants to make residents aware of online services that can be used to ensure safe ice conditions.
The Stormwater Ponds and Neighbourhood Ice Surface webpages provide up-to-date information on all County rinks and ponds.
In the release, the County encourages all to enjoy these amenities, while keeping “ourselves, our loved ones and our pets safe.”
