Jan 22, 2025 | 3:07 PM

The new Harry Balfour school is now home to an outdoor rink, “thanks to local businesses and residents.”

The community donated everything from the land the rink is on, to labour for building, and water and wood “to make this a reality” for Harry Balfour Students.

In the release, Harry Balfour’s Assistant Principal, Mrs. Buck credited Mrs. Small for creating the rink, saying “the entire school is grateful for her amazing idea, and gung-ho attitude to bring it to life.”

She added, “When Mrs. Small came to me and said she was looking into creating a skating rink, I had no idea that so many businesses, organizations, and individuals would be so willing to step up to make a difference in our community.”

Physical Education classes will now use the rink, along with residents, who can enjoy the facility “for years to come.”
