Feb 1, 2025 | 3:54 PM
Enviroment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for all of northern Alberta.
Temperatures of down to minus 40 with the windchill are forecasted overnight and into Sunday morning (February 2).
Enviroment Canada says while conditions may be “moderate in daytime hours” temperatures near minus 40 are expected to last until early in the week.
With the extreme cold, it’s suggested residents dress warmly and cover up to avoid frostbite, as it can develop within minutes in these temperatures.
