SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM, Austria (AP) — Austrian skier Stephanie Venier was in line to win the women’s super-G at the Alpine skiing world championships on Thursday after the top-ranked racers completed their runs.
Venier led Federica Brignone of Italy by 0.10 seconds, while Lauren Macuga of the United States and Kajsa Vickhoff Lie of Norway shared third position, 0.24 off the lead.
Results were not official yet because lower-ranked skiers were still coming down the course.
Lindsey Vonn hooked a gate with her right arm early in her run and did not finish in her first appearance at the worlds in six years. It was not immediately clear if the American was hurt.
