NEW YORK (AP) — A giant schnauzer named Monty won the top prize at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show Tuesday night.
Monty’s competition included a bichon frisé called Neal, a Skye terrier named Archer, a whippet and repeat runner-up known as Bourbon and a shih tzu called Comet who’s been a finalist before.
Also in the mix are a German shepherd named Mercedes, who came in second last year, and an English springer spaniel called Freddie. And then there was Monty, the giant schnauzer who made the finals for a third year in a row and won the huge American Kennel Club’s big show in December.
They all headed to the best in show competition at Madison Square Garden.
