
Vatican says Pope Francis is in ‘fair condition’ at a hospital with a mild fever
ROME (AP) — The Vatican said Friday that Pope Francis is in “fair condition” at a hospital with a respiratory tract infection and is running a mild fever.
An evening update said Francis had begun drug therapy at Rome’s Gemelli hospital. Francis was admitted earlier Friday after his weeklong bout of bronchitis worsened.

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis was hospitalized Friday for the fourth time since being elected in 2013, after he was diagnosed with bronchitis last week. Francis had part of one lung removed as a young man and has recurring bouts of bronchitis, especially in winter.
