Mayerthorpe RCMP investigate fire hall B&E

Feb 18, 2025 | 4:17 PM

While responding to a vehicle collision over the long weekend, Firefighters in Sangudo found the Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Hall #4 had been robbed.

Mayerthorpe RCMP is currently investigating, and they are asking local residents to review any surveillance footage they may have between 5:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday (February 16) night for anything suspicious.

In the release, Fire Chief Randy Schroeder said among the items taken were “essential tools for emergency service delivery,” including the station’s ‘jaws of life’.

Firefighters are still tallying up all the stolen items, but hydraulic pump hoses, a number of different saws, medical equipment, drones, tools, a generator and laptops are among the missing items.

Schroeder says in the meantime, they have implemented temporary measures to outfit Station #4 with tools from other fire halls, to ensure “service delivery is not interrupted.”

Anyone with information about this break-in, or any of the items stolen is asked to contact the Mayerthropre detachment at 780-786-2800, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8377 (TIPS).
