Storm, NWJHL, NPHL from the weekend

Storm

The Storm picked up two points on a weekend road swing, even though they lost all three games.

Grande Prairie dropped 6-5 decision in a shootout Friday in Camrose, before losing 2-1 Saturday and 4-3 in a shootout Sunday in Drumheller.

The second-place Storm are three points up on third-place Lloydminster, with two games in hand, and eight points back of first-place Whitecourt.

The Storm’s next game is in Bonnyville on Wednesday and before home games against Whitecourt Friday and Saturday.

All three of those contests will start at 7 p.m.

NWJHL

In the Northwest Junior Hockey League playoffs, La Crete and Beaverlodge are tied 1-1 in their division final series.

The Blades won 4-3 Saturday before losing 5-1 Sunday. Both those games were played in La Crete.

The series resumes Friday in Beaverlodge. Game time will be at 8 p.m.

In the other division final, Fort St. John leads Dawson Creek 2-0 after a 4-0 win Friday and a 7-2 victory on Sunday, both in Fort St. John.

That series will resume Friday in Dawson Creek. Puck drop will be at 8:30 p.m

NPHL

In the North Peace Hockey League playoffs, Manning has a 1-0 series lead on Sprit River after a 4-3 home win on Friday.

Falher and Dawson Creek are tied 1-1.

The Pirates won 4-3 in overtime Friday before losing 5-1 Sunday. The home team won both of those games.

Both series will resume Tuesday with Manning in Spirit River and Falher in Dawson Creek.

Start time for those two games will be at 8:30 p.m.
