Grande Prairie local wraps up sophomore season with NAIT Ooks

A Grande Prairie local finished up his second season with the NAIT Ooks Men’s hockey team.

Net minder McCoy Bidwell who played junior in Fernie with the Ghost Riders in the KIJHL as well as a stint with the Cowichan Valley Capitals in the BCHL; posted an 8-7 record with the Ooks in regular season.

Bidwell then took his .905 save percentage into playoffs where the Ooks went 1-2, losing in the first round.

In a release, Bidwell says he will now enter his third and final season with the Ook’s next year, as he is set to graduate from Instrumentation Engineering Technology by Christmas.
