Chamber surveying members on air transportation in Grande Prairie

Mar 12, 2025 | 6:00 AM

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce is surveying its members on air transportation.

The chamber says this is part of its advocacy efforts

Chair Jon Anderson says many people here see that the Grande Prairie Airport has a chance to be a gateway to the northwest.

“Certainly, we would love to have more residential flights, but I think the reality is that we have to balance that with commercial

Anderson says the need for more commercial flights would, in turn, support a need for more passenger flights.

He adds more air travel options ties in with things like attracting everything from health care professionals to trades people to relocate to Grande Prairie.

“Those of us who live here, we know all the great things the region has to offer and certainly, we know that the more (passenger) flights there are, the easier it is to get people to and from Grande Prairie to the rest of the world.”

“Certainly, that would be great.”

Chamber members have until Sunday to complete the survey.

It includes questions like how many times a year people travel for business or fun, reasons they choose to fly and factors they consider when picking an airline.
