Dawson Creek to host Hockey Canada event for the sixth time

Mar 21, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Dawson Creek will host another Hockey Canada event later this year, the sixth time it will have played host.

The Para Cup will take place from November 30 to December 6.

A release from Hockey Canada says this will be the last big international competition before the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.

“This tournament is a crucial part of our evaluation process as we continue to shape our Paralympic roster for 2026 in Italy. After a number of years competing for gold on the East Coast, we’re excited to come to B.C. and showcase the sport to the great hockey fans in the west,” says the head coach of the Canadian National Para Hockey Team in a release from Hockey Canada.

Dawson Creek hosted the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2015 and 2017, the World Junior A Challenge in 2019 and the National Women’s Under-18 Championship in 2012 and 2023.

“Dawson Creek is thrilled to welcome the world to Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway and host the 2025 Para Cup, a first for our city and the Peace Region,” added Dawson Creek Mayor Darcy Dober in that same release.

Tickets are now on sale.
