County of Grande Prairie gets $50,00 grant for hydrogen hub study

Some federal grant money is going towards a project in the County of Grande Prairie.

The federal government announced on Friday that it would give a total of $8.3 million to 13 clean technology projects in the natural resources and energy sectors.

The $50,000 for the County of Grande Prairie will be for what the government calls in a news release “a hydrogen foundational study.”

It will look at the potential of a hydrogen hub in this area and look at things like gaps, chances for investments and current assets.

The release says this will look at “the possible impact and opportunities” of and for such a hub.

The money is coming from Prairies Economic Development Canada’s Community Economic and Diversification program.

The list of projects being funded around Alberta can be found here.
