Mounties with the High Level RCMP detachment arrested one individual last Friday, (March 21) after a report from the community about a stolen vehicle at a residence in Paddle Prairie.

Once on the scene, RCMP found the vehicle fled.

However, the vehicle was found “soon after,” and was searched by officers with the driver being taken into custody.

As a result of the search, RCMP said “a firearm was revealed.”

Forty-six-year-old Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement resident, Colin Letendre had nine charges laid against them:

  • Driving a vehicle while under the influence;
  • Failure to stop
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Dangerous driving
  • Five counts of firearm-related offences

He was released on bail after appearing before a justice of the peace, with a court date set for April 7.
