City of Grande Prairie releases 2024 Annual Report

The City of Grande Prairie is highlighting how City Council supported strategic priorities last year.

The City has released the 2024 Annual report online.

In 2024 the City conducted various infrastructure upgrades, including 41.35 kilometres in road rehabilitation, 185 km in pavement inspections, and 6.496 metres in sidewalk repairs.

The City had several accomplishments in their Sport Tourism sector, with the Alberta Winter Games bringing in 6000 visitors and earning a $4.6 million economic impact on the region, while Grande Prairie was the first host city for the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, which has a $2 million impact on the region.

Other highlights throughout 2024 include the swearing in of Dwayne Lakusta as the first chief for the Grande Prairie Police Service, and $200,000 being awarded to the City by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta for fire smart vegetation management.
