Hard 8 Rodeo out at Evergreen Park this weekend

The rodeo season kicks of Friday night and Saturday down in Evergreen Park for the Hard 8 Rodeo.

Owner and Promoter of Hard 8 Roughstock Dwayne Sorken says there will be over 100 competitors at the third annual event.

“The real success I feel is the support of our local cowboys and the up and coming young stars of the world.”

Chetwynd, B.C.’s Chase Siemens will be in Bareback Riding event, a big name in the rodeo world.

Sorken it’ll be adrenaline-filled time.

“We got no timed event, so it’s based on fast barrel runs and the excitement of an eight second ride and all roughstock events.”

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and action starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Foster’s Pavillion (Lewis Hawkes Arena) on Friday, doors open at 2:00 p.m. and rodeo starts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

There is also a dance at the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre on Saturday night (18+ event).
