Candidates, voter information for the federal election

Federal election day is two weeks away.

There are six candidates running in the Grande Prairie riding:

  • Donovan Eckstrom, Rhinoceros Party
  • Elliot McDavid, Independent
  • Shawn McLean, People’s Party of Canada
  • Maureen McLeod, Liberal Party of Canada
  • Jennifer Villebrun, New Democratic Party
  • Chris Warkentin, Conservative Party of Canada (incumbent)

There are four candidates in Peace River-Westlock:

  • Luke Markowski, Liberal Party of Canada
  • Darrell Teske, Independent
  • Landen Tischer, New Democratic Party
  • Arnold Viersen, Conservative Party of Canada (incumbent)

There are five candidates running in Yellowhead:

  • Vicky Bayford, People’s Party of Canada
  • Michael Fark, Liberal Party of Canada
  • Dale Heath, Christian Heritage Party of Canada
  • Avni Soma, New Democratic Party
  • William Stevenson, Conservative Party of Canada

Yellowhead will have a new MP after this election as incumbent Conservative Gerald Soroka is not running again.

Advance polls will be open over Easter weekend. They will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day from Friday, April 18, through Monday, April 21.

Election Day is set for April 28. Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Registered voters were to have received their Voter Information Card in the mail by April 11. Anyone who did not, can check the Online Voter Registration Service on Elections Canada website or contact their local Elections Canada office by 6 p.m. on April 22.
