celebrating contributions of newcomers

Nominations open for 2025 Alberta Immigrant Impact Awards

Apr 16, 2025 | 9:38 AM

It’s time again to nominate newcomers across Alberta for the yearly Impact Awards.

The awards recognize the accomplishments of immigrant youth, women, entrepreneurs, academics, artists, athletes, professionals, and community builders.

They include eight categories: Arts and Sports, Career and Academics Contribution, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Immigrant Excellence, Inclusive Workplace, Small Community Enhancement, Immigrant Women’s Impact and Young Leader.

“Immigrants play a vital role in Alberta’s growth and success. They support essential industries, drive innovation and contribute to their communities in countless ways – whether through business, science and technology, professional contributions, academia, arts, sports or volunteer efforts,” says Muhammad Yaseen, Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism.

“Their diverse backgrounds and experiences make Alberta a richer, more dynamic place to live. It’s important to celebrate their contributions and the positive impact they have on our province.”

Nominations are open from April 15 until noon on June 18, and an event will be held in fall 2025 to recognize recipients.
