"Applications now being accepted for Fall 2025"

NWP launches remote BEd program for Fort Vermillion students

Apr 19, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Northwestern Polytechnic has partnered with the Fort Vermillion School Division to “bridge education opportunities in the north.”

A new deal between the two schools will now give the first remote cohort of Fort Vermillion students access to NWP’s new four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education degree (BEd).

NWP says through this program, students in Fort Vermillion will get a mix of in-person and remote education from the comfort of their own communities’ educational facilities, with course practicums being done at local FVSD elementary classrooms.

The Fort Vermillion School District approached NWP with the idea, which aligned with their goal of developing quality educators in the north.

FSVD Superintendent Mike McMann said his district is “beyond excited to pioneer teacher training with NWP.”

Acting Vice President of Academic of NWP, Jodi Peebles added, “We are always happy to work with communities and to develop responsive programming that reflects local workforce needs and opportunities.”

“Applications are now being accepted for our Fall 2025 intake.”
