Six confirmed tornadoes in Peace Region on June 15
An unlikely weather system blew through the Peace Region on the evening of Monday, June 15, 2026, leaving a path of destruction for one community.
The Northern Tornadoes Project, founded by Western University in 2017, tracks tornado occurrences in Canada to “improve severe and extreme weather understanding and prediction, mitigate against harm to people and property, and investigate future implications due to climate change.”
According to data from NTP, six tornadoes touched down across the Peace Country in three different supercell thunderstorms. Four tornadoes occurred in one long-track supercell.
No injuries have been reported.
