Alberta Major Crimes Unit make arrest in 2020 suspicious death of Grande Prairie reident

A MacKenzie County resident has been arrested in connection to a 2020 suspicious death in Grande Prairie.

On Aug 11, 2022, 23-year-old Cheyenne Omeasoo was declared deceased, and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation.

Almost six years later, the RCMP obtained an arrest warrant in relation to the death and took a 29-year-old male into custody.

Amadeus Laforce is being charged with second-degree murder and is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie July 6.
