First day of classes in Grande Prairie

Today (Thursday, Sept. 1) is the first day of classes for the Grande Prairie Public and Catholic school divisions, along with the Peace Wapiti Public School Division.

Grande Prairie Police ask drivers to be extra cautious of kids headed to school and crossing the street.

They add that “a little extra caution can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe.”

Earlier this week, GPPS already sent out a reminder about school zones going into effect.
