Athletics earn crucial two points over Canucks

The Grande Prairie Athletics are still in the conversation for 1st place in the West division in the NPHL.

They earned a massive two points Thursday night over the Dawson Creek Canucks, winning 5-3.

With the win the Athletics move to within a point of the Canucks for 1st place in the West division, but Dawson Creek does have a game in hand.

These two clubs will also meet one more time during the regular season on January 24th in Dawson Creek.

Grande Prairie is off until their next meeting with the Canucks, while Dawson Creek will play their game in hand Saturday in Falher against the Pirates.

Also Friday night, the Grimshaw Huskies got back in the win column thanks to a 6-5 win over the High Prairie Regals.

League action continues Friday night when the Falher Pirates head to Manning for a meeting with the Comets.
