Teen charged in attack pleads guilty to lesser charge

A teen originally charged with attempted murder in an attack on a worker at a youth facility east of Edmonton has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of robbery.
The victim, Heather Vanderzee, suffered injuries including broken facial bones and a stab wound in the cheek.
The attack took place at the Elk Island Youth Ranch near Lamont last February.
Another teen charged in the attack who faced an earlier trial is waiting for a verdict in his case.
