Wildfire in Kootenay National Park could close highway at AB/BC boundary

Parks Canada says there’s a high probability a highway that crosses the boundary between Alberta and British Columbia could close today due to a wildfire in Kootenay National Park.
Highway 93 through Kootenay National Park from Radium east to Alberta was closed last week, but has reopened intermittently over the weekend.
Parks Canada says opening the road depends on how intense the fire is, or how much it moves during the day, as well as how much smoke limits visibility.
They also consider the possibility that strong winds could cause fire-weakened trees to fall onto the highway. (The Canadian Press)
