Alberta Education seeking feedback on student transportation change
EDMONTON — Alberta Education is looking for feedback from residents about potential changes to student transportation eligibility criteria.
The survey is asking for input to determine potential changes to the distance criteria, mandated service levels, and what safety considerations should be considered.
“We are looking forward to hearing from Albertans on this important topic,” said Education Minister David Eggen in a news release. “Making sure students are transported to school and back home safely each day is an extremely important yet complicated task that involves a number of organizations. We want to know Albertans’ views on how to make this process the best it can be.”
The ministry says progress has already been made to understand transportation challenges in Alberta, but are looking for more feedback from parents, school authorities and stakeholders.
