Powell wins battle of Peace region skips

Skips with Peace region ties went head to head on Friday night at the Provincial Mixed Curling Playdowns in Edmonton.
Grande Prairie’s Graham Powell and his Edmonton based rink scored three times in the eighth end for a 9-6 win over the Daylyn Vavrek rink from Sexsmith.
The win improved Powell’s record to 4-2 and dropped Vavrek to 2-4.
Both see action on the 10am draw, as Powell faces Cassiel Kobylnyk, while Vavrek will take on Glen Hansen.
