City hosts Board Governance workshop
The City of Grande Prairie is hosting a workshop called “Introduction to Board Governance: Understanding Your Roles and Responsibilities” on April 13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is a learning opportunity is aimed towards local non-profits and came about from a partnership with the Alberta Culture and Tourism Board Development Program.
The workshop which is set to take place at the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion in Muskoseepi Park, is being facilitated by Culture and Tourism Alberta which is also providing the curriculum.
“The day is going to be full. It’s a great curriculum that covers all sorts of topics from the legal landscape and responsibilities, general roles and responsibilities of board members. It also covers organizational planning and financial responsibilities,” says Patricia Millward with the City’s Community Recreation Development department.
