Apr 5, 2019 | 7:48 AM

When it comes to rivalries it doesn’t get more heated than the one between the cities of Edmonton and Calgary.

Despite the two clubs not meeting in the NHL playoffs this year, the two cities WHL franchises will duke it out in round 2.

Dawson Creek’s Wyatt McLeod played a big factor for the Oil Kings in round 1 as they got by the Medicine Hat Tigers in 6 games.

The steady defenceman had a goal and 2 assists in the opening round and logged a ton of big minutes in the series.

The Oil Kings opponents in the 2nd round fought through a gruelling series with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, a series which saw the Hitmen win in 7 games.

Game 1 goes Saturday in Edmonton.
