DUECK, Terry (Independent)

1. Why should eligible voters cast a ballot for you?

I am running as an Independent Candidate as I strongly believe your MLA has to represent you 100% of the time. My voice has to be your voice. It does not matter what I think, it matters what you think. As an Independent candidate, I can choose who I want to listen to, speak for the ones who I want to speak for and vote how I want to vote without fear or retaliation. I look at the rest of the candidates in the GP-Wapiti, and even though they say they are speaking for themselves, it is clear that they are not. They have answers that they give out that are scripted and they are like puppets having the strings pulled the way their leader wants. I want to change this so that your MLA can speak clearly when they want and always represents his riding proudly.

2. If elected, what is the first thing you would want to accomplish?

The number one thing I would like to accomplish is to get the Grande Prairie Hospital open and the Beaverlodge Hospital begun. If there is money owed to companies that rightfully have a claim to be paid, then I want to ensure they get paid for the work they have done. By prolonging this just causes undue hardship for those people who are involved. They have families and employees to feed and take care of. Health care is so important as it affects us all sometime in our lifetime. It should not matter if you are rich or poor, weak or strong, young or old; we need to ensure it always stays public. No Albertan deserves because of race, age, or income not to have equal and quality healthcare given to us. We deserve as much as Edmonton and Calgary, so our residents will not have to in the future, be made to leave this region to be taken care of.
