EVENT CANCELLATION

Edmonton weather causes cancellation of local event

Apr 27, 2019 | 10:56 AM

The Peace Country Historical Society has cancelled an event scheduled for today due to weather, but not weather here in Grande Prairie.

Their “Thinking About Separatism: the Campaign for Peace River Provincehood, 1927-1938” event was originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Museum.

But organizers were forced to cancel the event after the speaker for it – Dr Robert Irwin of MacEwen University – was caught in a snowstorm north of Edmonton, and informed organizers that he will be unable to attend.
