Leave of absence extension granted for Councillor Blackburn

City council has granted an extended leave of absence to Councillor Clyde Blackburn.

He continues to undergo cancer treatment in Edmonton.

This will last until the council meeting set for August 12.

Mayor Bill Given says Blackburn is undergoing a second round of chemotherapy and continues to be in good spirits.

Blackburn announced in March that he had been diagnosed with leukemia.
