New Horizon CO-OP buys Hythe Bigway store

New Horizon CO-OP is expanding again.

It is buying Hythe Bigway. It will open as a CO-OP on July 17. All employees will stay on.

Hythe will become the eighth community to have a New Horizon CO-OP grocery store.

In a letter posted on the Hythe Bigway Facebook page, the current owners say they are selling out with “a mixture of gratitude and sorrow.”

They also thanked the employees, customers, and the community for their support over the past 36 years.

It will also open a new grocery store located in the north end of Grande Prairie in mid-August.
