Highway 43X bypass set to open next month
The Highway 43X bypass is set to open in about a month’s time.
Alberta Transportation Regional Director Ryan Konowalyk says that the targeted time of completion is the end of August.
“We’re currently finishing the tie-in west of Grande Prairie, the new intersection location. That should be done in a couple weeks and the rest of the bypass should be open to traffic by the end of August,” said Konowalyk. “We’ll continue with some site clean-up and finishing up after that, but the traffic would be using it by the end of August.”
The round-about at 116 street, which is the other connecting intersection to the north, was completed back in September. With both intersections ready to go in a couple weeks time, there is just a few other odds and ends to finish up to get the road ready.
